Understanding patient statuses in the Care Portal

This article explains the different patient status labels shown in the Care Portal.

Patient statuses indicate the stage of a patient’s monitoring session, from initial setup to completion.


 

Where to find patient statuses in the Care Portal

When logged in to the Care Portal, you can find the list of patients on the homepage, within the Patients section accessible from the main menu.

The current status for each patient is displayed in the Monitoring Session column.

Draft means a monitoring session has been requested but not yet confirmed.
This status is only applicable when the device is shipped directly to the patient by Empatica.

This status appears when:

  • A monitoring session is requested, but not yet confirmed by Empatica

Pending means the monitoring session details have been confirmed.

This status indicates that:

Waiting means the device has been assigned to the patient but has not been paired yet

Active means the patient has paired the EmbraceMini and started collecting data.

Paused means the patient has logged out without syncing all data.

This can occur when the patient logs out of the app before completing the offboarding process

Completed means the monitoring session has ended and the patient has been offboarded.

This status indicates that:

  • The session is finished
  • No further data is being collected
