This is only relevant to clinics that manage their own device fulfillment.
This article explains how to assign an EmbraceMini to a patient in the Care Portal.
Before you begin, make sure you:
- Have access to the Care Portal.
- Have added the patient to the Care Portal.
- Have requested a monitoring session for the patient.
These steps are required before assigning an EmbraceMini.
Assign the EmbraceMini

Log in to the Care Portal.
- Go to the Patients section.
- Find the patient and click the three dots on the right side of the patient row.
- Select Assign wearable.
You can also hover over the three dots and click the watch icon.

In the Serial number field, select the EmbraceMini serial number from the list.
You do not need to type the serial number manually.
Serial numbers shown in gray are already assigned to other patients and cannot be selected.
If you need to confirm the correct serial number, check the engraving on the back of the EmbraceMini or the EmbraceMini box. - If applicable, assign a provisioned phone.
Proceed to Review and create, then click Confirm.
After confirmation, the Assigned wearable field updates from “-” to the assigned serial number.
There is an alternative way to assign EmbraceMini to a patient:
- In the Patients tab, click on the patient’s name.
- Open the Monitoring sessions page.
- For the latest session, click the three dots on the right.
- Click Edit session.
Alternatively, hover over the three dots and click the pencil icon.
- Select a serial number and a provisioned phone, if applicable.
Then click Save.
What to do next
- You can edit medication reminders if needed.
- Once the patient has the EmbraceMini with them, ask them to pair it with the PKG Monitor app on a compatible smartphone.
Monitoring will start once EmbraceMini is successfully paired with the PKG Monitor app.
