This article explains how to properly clean the EmbraceMini device used with PKG Monitor. These instructions apply to both patients wearing the device during a monitoring session and healthcare professionals handling the device between patients.
It is recommended to clean the device once per week, or more frequently if itching or skin irritation occurs. Healthcare professionals should also clean the device before reusing an EmbraceMini with another patient, following their hospital’s standard sanitization procedures.
Before you begin
Make sure you have:
- A polyester or cellulose wipe
- 70% isopropyl alcohol or a sodium hypochlorite solution (up to 6000 ppm)
Cleaning instructions
- Remove EmbraceMini from your wrist
- Soak the polyester or cellulose wipe in isopropyl alcohol or hypochlorite solution for 5 minutes
- Thoroughly wipe the entire surface of EmbraceMini for at least 1 minute
- Visually inspect the device for any remaining dirt or residue
- If visible contamination remains, repeat the cleaning procedure
- Allow EmbraceMini to fully dry before wearing it again
Important notes
- Do not immerse EmbraceMini in liquid
- Do not use abrasive materials
